The Paper Mill Playhouse and the Cast of The Color Purple Celebrate "Spirit Day 2018" with

Adrianna Hicks and the cast of The Color Purple National Tour. (Matthew Murphy)

The company of The Color Purple and staff at the Papermill Playhouse "went purple" this year by sharing their stories of bullying and harassment growing up in honor of Spirit Day 2018 in a new video campaign. They are using this video to share their stories so that people everywhere can be inspired, and to pay solidarity to those in the LGBTQ community who face bullying daily because of their identities. Watch the campaign video, below!

This year’s Spirit Day (on Thursday, October 18) is a means of speaking out against LGBTQ bullying and standing with LGBTQ youth, who disproportionately face bullying and harassment because of their identities. Pledging to "go purple" on Spirit Day is a way for everyone to visibly show solidarity with LGBTQ youth and to take part in the largest, most visible anti-bullying campaign in the world.

The Color Purple is now running at the Paper Mill Playhouse through October 21st. For tickets, visit www.papermill.org.
