American Idiot opened on Broadway 10 years ago on April 20, 2010, at the St. James Theatre. The original cast reunited (virtually) to catch-up and then perform a beautiful performance of "21 Guns" from the show. Cast members included John Gallagher Jr., Rebecca Naomi Jones, Michael Esper, Christina Sajous, Mary Faber, and many more from the cast. Below is the video of the performance of "21 Guns."

American Idiot follows the exhilarating journey of a new generation of young Americans as they struggle to find meaning in a post-9/11 world, borne along by Green Day's electrifying score. This high-octane show includes every song from the acclaimed album American Idiot, as well as several songs from the band's Grammy-winning release, 21st Century Breakdown.

The show went on to garner tons of awards during it's run. Awards include the 2011 GRAMMY Award for "Best Musical Show Album," two 2010 Tony Awards, a Drama Desk Award, an and Outer Critics Circle Award, and the show was honored with the Actors' Equity Association's Award for "Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity and Equal Opportunity on Broadway."

Featuring a score from Green Day's American Idiot album and a book by Michael Mayer Billie Joe Armstrong, the musical played 422 performances before closing on April 24, 2011.

Editors Note: This was my first Broadway show I ever saw, and it holds a special place in my heart!
